A B O U T U S

Our founder, Mike Vaughan Jr, a Santa Monica native, created Pro Sup Shop in 2005 out of his love for the ocean and wanting to share this accessible water sport with others. With the help from his father, Michael Vaughan Sr, some friends and just a handful of boards, Pro SUP Shop began getting people on the water in Marina del Rey at Mother’s Beach. Through insight, hard work, and a long term vision, Pro SUP Shop became the largest Stand Up Paddle board business in the greater Los Angeles area, operating out of Jamaica Bay Inn at Mother’s Beach in Marina Del Rey just steps from the World Famous Venice Beach Pier and Boardwalk. 

Since the passing of Mike Vaughan Jr. in 2020, Pro Sup Shop continues to be family owned and operated by his father Michael Vaughan Sr, his wife Jennifer Kirkley-Vaughan and his son, Cole Vaughan. They operate on the same principles he established back in 2005.  

We are so very passionate about being on the water and experiencing all of the beauty and excitement that it has to offer. Our goal is to share our passion and unite this incredible community by exploring these beautiful bodies of water and inspiring others to embrace and welcome new challenges. We strive to bring people together by creating truly special and memorable experiences through nature and paddlesports.
