At Pro SUP Shop, we’ve spent nearly two decades helping people discover the magic of the ocean. Founded in 2005 by Santa Monica native Mike Vaughan Jr., our story began with a simple goal—to make stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) accessible to everyone. With just a handful of boards, some friends, and an unshakable love for the water, Mike and his father, Michael Vaughan Sr., launched Pro SUP Shop on the shores of Marina del Rey’s serene Marina “Mother’s” Beach. What started as a local passion project evolved into the largest SUP business in the Los Angeles area.

Our journey is one of connection. From the very beginning, Pro SUP Shop has been rooted in more than just paddleboarding—it’s about creating moments that resonate. The ocean has a way of bringing people together, and we’ve harnessed that energy to cultivate a community that thrives on exploration and shared adventure.

Even after Mike’s passing in 2020, his legacy continues to shape who we are today. Pro SUP Shop remains a family-owned and & operated business, run by his son Cole Vaughan & father Michael Lee Vaughan Sr. Together, they honor Mike’s vision, maintaining the same passion, care, and dedication.
